The Presbyterian Church gets its name from the Greek word “presbuteros”, which means elder. This, it is a church governed by elders who are elected by the congregation and who serve in a representative democracy. Elders comprise the Session which is responsible for the mission and government of the church. At Concord, this is accomplished through three committees: Christian Education committee, Congregational Care committee, and the Worship and Music Committee.

The Session also oversees the work of the Board of Deacons and the Trustees. The Board of Deacons consists of 12 members who nurture congregational fellowship, handle local mission giving through the Fish Cupboard, and prepare the sanctuary for worship. The Trustees are elected to manage the financial, legal and property affairs of the church.

Corporate worship is the central act of church life. Worship is conducted at Concord at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday, with additional services at special seasons of the year.

In addition to worship, Concord provides various activities and organizations to promote Christian fellowship and spiritual growth. Your participation is invited and encouraged. As additional needs arise, new groups may be formed.

Sunday School includes classes for all age groups, including several adult classes meeting 10:15 – 11:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

Communicants Classes are conducted by the pastor for young people seeking instruction and church membership.

Ladies Aid Society meets at the church on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. It is the oldest organization at Concord. It provides financial and physical help when needed and is active in Bible study and mission work.

Concord Choir provides a rich tradition of musical ministry which greatly enhances our worship.
